Anthropic partnered with Novo Nordisk on clinical study reports using AI; reduced 10-week task to 10 minutes with human validation in 3 days

Dario Amodei· Anthropic· AI· 2026-07-18· about Novo Nordisk, Anthropic (NVO)
This is something anthropic has done with with Nova Nordisk the maker the maker of uh ompic and other uh other other drugs. Uh at the end of a clinical trial you have to write a clinical study report... Typically this takes about 10 weeks. um they've started using our model for this and the model takes about 10 minutes to write the clinical study report and humans take about three days to check it.

Why it matters

This demonstrates early, real-world deployment of AI in regulated pharmaceutical workflows. The productivity gains (10 weeks → 10 minutes) and FDA-comparable quality signal strong adoption potential across large pharma.

Investment implication

Pharma companies using AI-assisted clinical trial workflows will reduce timelines and costs, accelerating drug approvals. This creates competitive advantage for early adopters of Anthropic Claude and similar models. Regulatory pathway clarity becomes a key driver of pharma AI adoption rates.
