Typically, the timing is a function of site selection. And then it takes time to build the system, install it and then to calibrate it. And as I've outlined previously, you should think of the rev rec to be on average over a two-quarter period of time...we expect to book two to three systems deals annually going forward at price points between $20 million and $40 million per system.

Why it matters

D-Wave is capacity-constrained by manufacturing and installation cycles, not demand. The company is already in production with six customer applications and has a $35.5M H1 2026 bookings backlog. The 2-3 systems/year run rate suggests D-Wave's system manufacturing and field engineering are bottlenecks, not sales.

Investment implication

Contract manufacturers, cryogenic equipment suppliers, and quantum control system integrators supporting D-Wave's annealing production should expect sustained demand. Site infrastructure (cooling, power, real estate) is also a dependent variable—facility integrators and power management vendors may benefit from accelerated customer capex.
