Figure AI targets humanoid robot commercialization within 24 months; positions TAM larger than autonomous vehicles with lower safety hurdles

Brett Adcock· Figure AI· Robotics· —· pub 2026-07-26· about Figure AI
we're we're in commercial um work doing useful work and we're like training our neural nets with real world data and and getting better recursively getting better. I happen to think this this business is probably valued bigger than Cruz and Whimo which are like these are $30 billion free revenue companies and I think we can do those over the next like 24 months. We'll have robots in commercial applications with like some of the world's biggest brands in five years.

Why it matters

Figure is targeting commercial deployment of humanoid robots at scale within 2 years with potential TAM exceeding $30B+ autonomous vehicle comparables, signaling massive capex and supply chain requirements for actuators, batteries, sensors, and computing.

Investment implication

Suppliers of advanced actuators, high-density batteries (likely custom), AI accelerators, and sensor arrays should expect significant near-term demand from Figure and competitors. Companies providing picks-and-shovels to humanoid robotics (motor controllers, precision manufacturing, AI chips) are positioned to capture value ahead of robot commercialization.
